In a magic show, a magician has 5 boxes labeled A, B, C, D, and E. Each box has a different colored gemstone inside: blue, green, red, white, and yellow. The magician gives you the following clues about the arrangement of the boxes: Box A is not next to the box with the green gemstone, the box with the red gemstone is next to the box with the white gemstone, and box C is next to the box with the blue gemstone. If box B has the yellow gemstone, which box has the green gemstone?

Solution
Box D — From the clues, we know box B has the yellow gemstone. Since box A is not next to the green gemstone, and box B is already determined, the green gemstone cannot be in box A or B. The red and white gemstones are together, and box C is next to the blue gemstone. This means the arrangement could be something like: A (blue), C (other color), B (yellow), D (red or white), E (the other of red or white). Given box C is next to blue and cannot be next to green (because A cannot be next to green and B is yellow), the green gemstone must be in box D, as it's the only position left that satisfies all conditions without contradicting any given clue.
